The novel coronavirus is imposing unprecedented health, nutrition, social, and economic risks to the global population.

Tufts University, an implementing partner of Growth through Nutrition, USAID’s 5-year flagship mutlisectoral nutrition project - in collaboration with Save the Children International, will be hosting the 7th Project Research and Learning Working Group on Friday, the 28th of February, 2019.

The following topics will be presented and discussed during the half-day workshop.  

   1. Harnessing Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture to improve the Nutritional Status of Mothers, Children, and Adolescents in Rural Ethiopia

Tufts University, in collaboration with Save the Children International, will be hosting the 6th Project Research and Learning Working Group on Friday, the 27th of September, 2019.

The following topics will be presented and discussed during the half-day workshop.  

Tufts University an implementing partner of Growth through Nutrition, USAID’s 5-year flagship mutlisectoral nutrition project, in collaboration with The Chair of the National Nutrition Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Steering Committee, EPHI hosted the 5th Nutrition, Agriculture and WASH Project Research and Learning Working Group meeting on Friday July 12, 2019 at KZ Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

As the project approached its midterm, Save the Children hosted a workshop to highlight how the Growth through Nutrition Activity is working with the Government of Ethiopia and partners to reduce stunting through multi-sectoral and innovative approaches. Results for Development (R4D) Nutrition Managing Director, Augustin Flory, visited Ethiopia in early April and met with him on the 4th of April 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Jupiter International Hotel in Addis Ababa to discuss sustainable nutrition financing. 

The College of Health Sciences and College of Agriculture at Debre Markos University hosted the 1st Agriculture, Nutrition and Health Nexus Conference on the theme of “Multi-Sectoral Roles in Nutrition Interventions”

Capacity building is an integral part of the Growth through Nutrition learning agenda strategy. Learning events serve as an opportunity to disseminate research findings as well as build capacity around research and learning among the research and learning communities in Ethiopia. Tufts hosted a half-day learning event on Dec 14 at the Capital Hotel.  During this event, two recent Ph.D. graduates sponsored by USAID ENGINE presented their dissertation topics:

Tufts hosted the 3rd Project Research and Learning Working Group meeting on December 20, 2018 at Save the Children to present and discuss findings from Seasonal Calendar Study conducted by Land O’Lakes as part of the Growth through Nutrition project. In addition, Tufts Senior Learning Advisor presented and discussed the ToR for the working group for the new members from ECSC-SUN joining the platform.
